Description
Conceived during a 2025 holiday, the Noosa 500 Pursuit is Duns' attempt to introduce the 500 over 10 magic to paradise. Hidden within the spectacular trails of Noosa National Park, the course combines brutal climbs, relentless humidity, iconic trails and one very sneaky cut-through on an unofficial trail to create a continuous 10km loop with over 500 metres of climbing.
Conditions are beautiful. Brutal. Sweltering. Exactly as intended.
Origins
Every holiday needs a project. While the missus relaxed on Hastings Street, Duns disappeared into Noosa National Park with one mission: build a legitimate 500 Over 10 course.
Numerous attempts followed before settling on what is hopefully the committee-approved route. If further "research trips" are required to perfect the course, sacrifices will simply have to be made.
Race History
No official race has yet been held, but the course has already been earmarked for launch by Noosa local — and George's French mate — Florian.
Should the committee grant final approval, the Noosa 500 Pursuit will become Queensland's first official 500 Over 10 course, bringing handicapped pursuit racing to one of Australia's most spectacular national parks.
