The original 500 over 10 concept: an urban trail loop designed to squeeze a savage amount of climbing into a compact, chase-friendly format.
The original. The one that started it all. The best trail in Australia, if not the World.
The original 500 over 10 concept: an urban trail loop designed to squeeze a savage amount of climbing into a compact, chase-friendly format.
Born from lockdown-era scheming by George and Warren, chasing the impossible brief: 10 kilometres with 500 metres of climb.

A hidden Newport gully connecting Grandview Drive with Kanimbla Crescent on Bilgola Plateau. Runners cross the creek, climb through sheltered bushland, and briefly forget they signed up for something terrible.
A classic Northern Beaches bushland section: narrow trail, native canopy, uneven footing and just enough serenity to hide the fact that the course is still quietly taking pieces out of your legs.
A short, sharp reminder that 500 metres of climbing does not arrive politely. This is one of the course's more honest sections: no mystery, no romance, just gradient and regret.
A staircase section that feels purpose-built for reducing strong runners to bargaining, silence and heavy breathing. Essential Bilgola 500 mythology.
